Installation and Startup
Windows
1. Insert the Clifford Reading CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click Install when the start-up screen appears.
Note: If the start-up screen does not appear, double-click the Setup.exe
icon on your CD-ROM drive.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
Troubleshooting Tips for Windows XP Users
NOTE: If the installation on your Windows 2000 or XP computer
fails, it is likely that you are not logged onto the computer with administration
rights. Log on as a user with administrative rights and re-install the
program.
NOTE: If you have Windows XP and are unable to run or get an error message
when starting Clifford Reading, run the Microsoft XP Program Compatibility
Wizard.
To run the Microsoft XP Program Compatibility Wizard, follow the instructions
below.
1. To open the Wizard:
a. Click Start.
b. Click Help and Support.
c. Click Fixing a problem.
d. Click Application and software problems.
e. Under Fix a problem, click Getting older programs to run on Windows
XP.
1. Click the Program Compatibility Wizard link in the instructions.
2. Follow the instructions to start the wizard. When prompted on how
to locate the program you are trying to run, choose "I want to
choose from a list of programs."
3. Select from the list the program that you are having trouble running.
4. Select the Next button.
5. Choose "Microsoft Windows 95" and use the Next button to
proceed through the
Compatibility Wizard.
6. Re-launch Clifford Reading.
